Everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue meaningful work, share their talents, and feel valued. During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we celebrate the skills and contributions of workers with disabilities and recognize the importance of making employment more accessible.

An inclusive workplace begins with everyday decisions. Accessible hiring practices, reasonable accommodations, and a willingness to listen can help people participate fully and succeed. Employers can strengthen their teams by recognizing individual abilities and addressing barriers that may otherwise keep qualified candidates from opportunities.

At Triple C Housing, our commitment to Care, Community, and Choice includes respecting each person’s goals for their own life. For someone who wants to work, a stable home and access to support can provide a foundation for exploring opportunities, developing routines, and pursuing those goals.

Employment can offer income, connection, and a sense of accomplishment. Each person should have the freedom to define what meaningful participation looks like for them, with their dignity respected at every stage.

This October, we encourage employers and community members to recognize talent, listen to people with disabilities, and help create workplaces where everyone has an opportunity to contribute.
