Each November, Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week reminds us that food and housing insecurity are deeply intertwined challenges. Across the nation, many families are being forced to make impossible choices between rent, groceries, and basic needs.

This year’s observance arrives amid a difficult moment for countless households. The federal government shutdown has placed critical programs (like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) in jeopardy. With federal funds delayed, millions of Americans have seen disruptions in their food assistance. Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is a moment to recommit ourselves to collective care. We encourage our community to stay informed, support local food initiatives, and lift up those affected by the shutdown. Even small acts like sharing information about local food programs, donating to a pantry, or volunteering can help create the kind of compassionate community where everyone can thrive.

As Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week comes to an end, Triple C Housing stands firm in our mission to build pathways toward stability, wellness, and independence because NO ONE should have to choose between a place to live and a meal to eat.
